Adjustment of Status

There are generally two paths to obtaining a Green Card:

  • Consular Processing is the process for those outside of the U.S.
  • Adjustment of Status is the process for those who currently reside in the U.S.

Adjustment of Status

An individual’s immigration status may be changed while in the United States from Non-Immigrant (temporary) to Immigrant (permanent) if the individual was admitted into the United States and is able to meet all required qualifications for a Green Card (permanent residence).
